A community cat colony in Lincoln County.

The Central Coast Humane Society (CCHS) is an effective force for the protection of animals in Lincoln County and located in Newport, Oregon. Founded in 1974, the CCHS works to protect animals from overpopulation, abuse, and neglect. Our efforts include a Spay/Neuter Program, Community Cat Program, and Animal Welfare Program. See our Services Page.

We also have a Petfinder website that helps people re-home their pets without having to go to the shelter.

The leadership of the organization has changed over the years. Still, our goal has always remained the same: To help as many animals as possible in Lincoln County so that they do not suffer from overpopulation, abuse, or neglect.

We do not operate a shelter, but we carry out many programs that make a difference in animals’ lives. And we assist not only dogs and cats, but horses, ferrets, rabbits, birds, and other animals. Call Lincoln County Animal Shelter for adoption options.

We are a small staff and made up of 100% volunteers! We have one thing in common – we love animals! Additionally, we are governed by a Board of Directors.
